According to our latest global bank infographic, the world's five largest banks are all based in Asia, and China is home to the world’s three largest banks. Four of the top 10 most capitalized banks are based in Sweden, while three are based in Japan.
Beijing-based Industrial & Commercial Bank of China Ltd., China Construction Bank Corp., and Agricultural Bank of China Ltd. remain the three largest banks in the world, with total assets calculated at $3.473 trillion, $3.017 trillion, and $2.816 trillion, respectively. Out of the 100 top banks by region, 39 are based in APAC, 40 in EMEA, 17 in North America, and four in Latin America.
