The Trump administration’s trade policies are the defining factor for supply chain decision-makers in 2025 and activity will reach a crescendo in the second quarter of 2025. Join our experts as we unpack the key supply chain issues in 2025 and 2026:

  • Trump season 2, episode 2: Trade protectionism will continue to spread, but more certainty on US tariffs and other countries’ responses will emerge during Q2 2025. We’ll outline the tariffs to watch and the options for retaliation from other countries. Regulatory uncertainties will weigh in Europe.
  • Network upheaval: Global trade activity through most logistics networks will continue to grow in 2025 and into 2026. That doesn’t mean life is easy: challenges we’ll discuss will include proposed port fees for Chinese vessels in the US, the development of the shipping fleet, including new capacity and alliances, as well as environmental regulations.
  • Managing the peak and beyond: Corporate supply chain decision-makers are more preoccupied with but less worried about, tariffs than in the past as a result of having a range of tactical options available to them. In the meantime, the peak season looms amid signs of delays, uncertain demand and a host of planning uncertainties.
