While more of the world’s large companies have set net-zero targets in recent years, they are still the exception rather than the rule, according to the latest data from the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). In Asia Pacific, only 23.3% of companies have net-zero targets, while 33% of companies in Africa have net-zero targets. This shows that the private sector has a long way to go to play its part in combatting climate change.
These net zero commitments can be examined using S&P Global Raw Data, which provides extensive access to up to 1,000 transparently disclosed ESG datapoints checked against reliable public sources for every company we assess in the CSA.
Join S&P Global Sustainable1 for the next webinar in our Beyond ESG series as we explore how:
Net zero commitments vary by region and sector, with varying levels of strategies for achieving those commitments.
Most companies with a net-zero target have implemented a strategy to reduce their Scope 1 and/or Scope 2 emissions, while only about half have defined a strategy for Scope 3 emissions.
S&P Global Raw Data from the CSA enables users to dive into the sustainability considerations that matter most to their workflows.
