Wanying Shi, Emissions Insight Analyst, S&P Global Commodity Insights
Wanying is an Emissions Insight Analyst at S&P Global Commodity Insights, which is a rotational role between the Center of Emissions Excellence team and the Energy Transition Upstream Consulting team. Wanying is based in Calgary, as a member of the Emissions Technical team, she focuses on the development of emission models for variety of upstream oil and gas commodities throughout North America. Her current projects involve the modelling of emission intensities for US Natural Gas and LNG.
Wanying has four years' work experience in power engineering industry, with a focus on distribution and transmission power projects in British Columbia. Her career passion for emissions quantification and commitment to help organizations in their decarbonization efforts led her to pivot towards the sustainability sector. Prior to joining S&P Global, she was an analyst at a carbon consulting firm focused on carbon credit development. Her responsibilities encompassed the development of carbon credits, GHG emission reduction quantification, facilitation of verification processes, and emissions reporting.
Wanying holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan and a Graduate degree in Clean Energy Engineering from the University of British Columbia.
