Balaji Raparthi works as a Senior Research Analyst in the Gas, Power, and Climate Solutions Asia Pacific team. Based out of the Gurgaon office in India, Balaji covers research on South Asian power and renewables markets, with a focus on the distribution sector, market liberalization, and decarbonization strategies. In his previous roles, Balaji worked at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), Infraline Energy, PwC, KPMG, and Wipro Limited on various research and consultancy projects. He has a total of about 10 years of experience working with distribution companies, regulatory commissions, policymakers, consumer organizations, development organizations, bilateral and multilateral organizations, and foundations. He has extensive experience on projects involving energy audits of distribution companies, regulatory advisory, monitoring and evaluation of various central funded schemes (to name a few, Power for all (24X7), DDUGJY, IPDS, Financial restructuring of distribution utilities, and UDAY), and e-mobility sector.

Balaji completed his MBA in power management from the National Power Training Institute (NPTI) at Faridabad, India, and holds a bachelor's degree in instrumentation engineering from Andhra University College of Engineering, Visakhapatnam, India.
