Senior Research Analyst, Greater China Power and Renewables

Weixiao Qin is a senior research analyst on the Gas, Power and Climate Solutions team at S&P Global Commodity Insights, based in Beijing, China.

Weixiao covers research on China power and renewables markets, focusing on power market liberalization, market pricing mechanism, renewable procurements and decarbonization strategies. Previously, Weixiao was a Senior Economist at Energy Market Company (EMC) in Singapore, responsible for analyzing market design enhancement proposals for the Singapore Wholesale Electricity Market. During her time with EMC, Weixiao worked on several projects including reviewing the default levy arrangement, enhancing the bilateral contact scheme and developing market participation models for distributed energy resources. Before EMC, she worked as a Regulatory Reporting Analyst at UBS AG, Singapore.

Weixiao holds Master of Science in Statistics and Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics from National University of Singapore. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English.
