Langelihle Malimela is head of Sub-Saharan Africa's country risk team at S&P Global Market Intelligence.

Langelihle focuses on Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries, specifically South Africa, Angola, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. He forecasts political risks, including those associated with labor dynamics, institutional capacity, policy consistency and broader regulatory trends, as well as their impact on key sectors such as mining, energy and agriculture. Previously, he led government affairs at a large African corporate, and has over eight years of experience teaching international relations and political science at several South African universities.

He holds a Master of Science with distinction from the University of Cape Town and is a doctoral candidate at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
