Sergio A. Hernandez is a senior economist for the World Industry Service (WIS) at S&P Global Market Intelligence.

Based in Miami, Florida, he oversees the forecast process for all industries in Latin America. He is also responsible for leading the report-writing process by WIS economists, ensuring quality control and coordination of quarterly global industry publications, providing assistance with client inquiries when necessary. Sergio is the main point of contact between several vertical industry practices within the S&P Global Market Intelligence division and the WIS economists that is a core aspect of the WIS forecast procedure. His areas of specialization include macroeconomic forecasting, sovereign risk analysis, Latin American economics and industry performance in the automotive sector. His research experience in these areas spans more than a decade. Prior to joining the company 2006, he worked for the consulting firm Global Economic Consulting Associates headquartered near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he conducted economic research in the energy and agricultural sectors. Sergio is fluent in Spanish and has an effective operational proficiency in Portuguese.

His US university degrees include a Master of Science in Economics from the University of Texas and a Graduate Certification in Applied Statistics from Pennsylvania State University.
