Amanda Eglinton is an Associate Director of Economics in the Pricing and Purchasing Service at S&P Global Market Intelligence.
Amanda is the lead analyst covering base metals (nickel, copper) and stainless/specialty steel markets with a focus on helping organizations make smarter purchasing decisions and achieve supply chain cost savings. With over twelve years of experience across supply chain research and market intelligence, Amanda has helped clients navigate a myriad of market challenges and uncertainties related to the supply, demand and pricing of metals including the 232 tariffs on steel and aluminum, the COVID-related demand boom and supply chain bottlenecks, the green energy transition and the Russian and Ukraine war. She also participates in consulting projects as a metals/supply chain subject matter expert and is a key contributor to reports and analysis around battery metals and the green energy transition.
Prior to joining the Pricing and Purchasing team, Ms. Eglinton was responsible for providing market intelligence on the supply and demand of onshore pipelay contractors and line pipe as part of the IHS Markit Energy Cost and Technology group. She also has experience working as a research analyst for the Emission Reduction Credit (ERC) trading desk at Element Markets (now Anew Climate), a leading renewable energy company. Ms. Eglinton holds a masters of arts in applied economics from the University of Houston, and a bachelor of science in finance and economics from Saint Louis University.
