April Tan is an associate director with the Oil Markets, Midstream, and Downstream team at S&P Global Commodity Insights.
Based in Singapore, April Tan focuses on crude, petrochemical feedstocks (naphtha), and refined products markets for Asia and the Middle East. April has roughly 15 years of experience in the energy and petrochemical industry. She was previously with the Chemicals Consulting team, where she contributed to bespoke single-client project deliverables. April was particularly involved in providing market and commercial in-depth evaluations on engagements utilizing various analytical tools/methods (including cost curves, supply/demand and pricing models, chemical product cost structure evaluations, financial/cash flow models) from S&P Global Commodity Insights, as well as supporting core market research requirements. She first joined the company as part of Chemical Market Associates, Inc., which is now part of S&P Global, as a research associate in the Polyolefins and Chlor-Alkali & Vinyls team. She started her career as a process specialist with the defunct Chemical Process Technology Centre (CPTC).
April holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering with honors from the National University of Singapore.
