Amena Saiyid

Amena H. Saiyid is a senior climate and energy research analyst with the Climate & Sustainability Group at S&P Global Commodity Insights

Amena analyzes global power, renewables, and natural gas sectors for the group and write for the climate and sustainability daily news service. She has been reporting on energy and environment news since 2003. During her 20-year tenure as a journalist, Amena has developed an expertise in analyzing the regulatory, legal and legislative impacts on the US energy, chemicals and manufacturing sectors. Prior to joining Bloomberg Industry Group where she reported on U.S. water, air and climate change laws, regulations and litigation, she was an associate editor with S&P Platts (now S&P Global Commodity Insights), analyzing coal, uranium and emissions markets. She has also served as a congressional fellow at the American Political Science Association and was an editor with Argus Media, covering climate change, air quality and emissions markets.

She holds an MA in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the College of William & Mary.
