Zonia Palacios, Ph.D.

Dr. Zonia Palacios is a Senior Specialist Technical Research at S&P Global Commodity Insights, within the Middle East regional division.

Zonia joined S&P Global in January 2023, contributing over two decades of experience derived from both academia and the Oil & Gas sector. In her capacity, Dr. Palacios provides analyses for the complete life cycle of fields spanning Pakistan, Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, Yemen, and Afghanistan, from exploration and discovery to decommissioning. Her research expertise covers geology, petroleum systems, and field production, among other related topics.

Dr. Palacios holds a PhD in Geology from the University of Aberdeen and an MSc in Petroleum Geology from Universidad del Zulia, VE. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
