Walt Madeira leads the Sub-Sahara Africa vehicle sales forecasting product and is the key automotive analyst for Spain, Portugal and South Africa.
Walt has over 20 years of direct experience in analysing and forecasting demand trends and car sales in the global automotive industry. Walt is experienced in strategic assessment of future new product developments, vehicle launch planning scenarios, provides OEM reviews of brand strategy analysis, identifies profitable niche segments, understands key legislative issues and monitors the social demographic cluster movements driving the shifting patterns in buying behaviour. Prior to joining S&P Global, Walt enjoyed many years of experience at a global OEM within the sales and marketing departments and dealer network planning & optimization division.
Throughout the years, Walt has been a speaker, presenting on a variety of automotive related topics at both external client seminars and internal customized projects, delivered on-site at specific client-oriented workshops, project studies and product focus panels.
At present, Walt covers the automotive industry in Spain, Portugal, South Africa and leads the Sub-Sahara Africa vehicle sales forecasting product which covers 50 markets.This emerging region has gained importance in the automotive industry as OEMs and suppliers search for the next profitable opportunity regarding the assembly and sale of their products and services. Walt has travelled extensively throughout the region and has spoken at industry events held in Morocco and in Saudi Arabia.
Walt holds a degree in Business Administration and Marketing from ISCTE Lisbon Business University and has completed executive courses in Global Economic Imbalances at LSE - London School of Economics.
