Consulting Executive Director, Chemical Transaction Advisory Services
Michael Kratochwill is Executive Director for Transaction Advisory Services for Chemical Consulting at S&P Global Commodity Insights
Michael brings experience in the chemical and energy industries from upstream oil and gas through midstream, and downstream refining and chemicals, including specialty chemicals and oilfield chemicals. Michael also brings his experience in technology valuation, independent engineering and M&A due diligence analysis, and strong knowledge of petroleum and chemical industry technologies, market structures and economics.
Prior to his current position at S&P Global, he held positions at Sunoco, Atlantic Richfield, ARCO Chemical, Continental Bank, Chem Systems, Nexant and, most recently, at Chemical Market Associates. He has been a member of the AIChE since 1970 and the SPE since 1979. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Drexel University, US, and a Master of Business Administration from Widener University, US. He has extensive experience advising clients on screening for acquisition and investment opportunities, financial transactions, and commercial development for new products and technologies. He also has done considerable expert witness/testimony work on appraisals and valuations and industry/technology dynamics, and he has more than 45 years of industry experience.
