Choon Gek Khoo, Ph.D.

Choon Gek Khoo is a Research Analyst with the Gas, Power and Climate Solutions team at S&P Global Commodity Insights.

Based in Penang, Malaysia, her research focuses on data analytics for conventional energy in the Asia Pacific region, as well as analysis examining market trends and policy developments for Southeast Asian power and renewables markets. Prior to joining S&P Global, she spent time with Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), pursuing research into technologies for the cultivation and conversion of energy-rich microalgal biomass into biofuels. Dr. Choon Gek holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Universiti Malaysia Pahang and a Ph.D. from USM, both in Malaysia.
