Rod Hutton

Rod Hutton is senior manager of Rigs for Petrodata from S&P Global Commodity Insights

Rod is based in the Aberdeen office and has been a key member of the rigs editorial team covering the international rig market from 1995 to 2007, with a predominant focus on the European rig market. He is managing editor of the monthly North Sea Rig Report and contributes to the publication World Rig Forecast - Short Term Trends. In addition, he is part of a team responsible for the content and data quality of RigPoint and RigBase, the Petrodata web-based systems tracking supply and demand for offshore drilling rigs worldwide. When ODS Petrodata became part of S&P Global Commodity Insights in 2011, he became the leader of a team of nine reporters and specialists who cover the offshore rig market for S&P Global Commodity Insights.

Rod has a BA (Hons) degree in business studies from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, and previously worked in logistics for Mobil North Sea.
