Walt Hart, Ph.D., is a vice president of global NGL research at S&P Global Commodity Insights.

Walt Hart is the preeminent subject-matter expert for global NGLs. He leads the three annual international NGL conferences in the United States, Asia, and Latin America, and he is the senior expert for the NGL subscription services. He has also designed and taught workshops and training courses. His proprietary studies have involved business analysis and strategy, market studies, forecasting, valuations, and legal support. He works primarily in the area of NGLs but also has significant experience in petrochemical feedstocks and alternative fuels. Prior to joining S&P Global, Walt spent 14 years at The Dow Chemical Company/Union Carbide as well as two years at Owens Corning Fiberglas. He held positions in process engineering, technical sales, research and development, finance, and strategic planning. He has also taught at the undergraduate level. Walt is a registered professional engineer and a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He represents S&P Global Commodity Insights on the World LPG Association (WLPGA) Industry Council and serves as an ambassador for the WLPGA Women in LPG Global Network.

Walt holds a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Notre Dame, an MBA from the University of Charleston, and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from West Virginia University, United States.
