Marifaith Hackett, Ph.D.

Dr. Marifaith Hackett is a director of Specialty Chemicals at S&P Global Commodity Insights, focused on renewables and nutrition.

Dr. Marifaith has more than 30 years of experience in the global chemicals industry. She leads S&P Global's Renewables and Nutrition team, which analyzes the bio-based chemicals, bioplastics, and biofuels industries as well as food and nutrition markets. Recent projects have focused on the role of biodegradable polymers in the circular economy, trends and opportunities in the food additives market, and structural changes in the global flavors and fragrances industry.

Before joining S&P Global, Dr. Marifaith was a product manager and market/technology analyst at several consulting, manufacturing, and Internet companies. She started her career as a research chemist in the New Products R&D division of Amoco Chemical Company. Educated in the United States, Dr. Marifaith's credentials include a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Bradley University in Illinois, an MBA from the University of Chicago, and an organic chemistry doctorate from Harvard University.​
