Julian Gale

Julian Gale, deputy Editor at S&P Global Commodity Insights, specialises in reporting on the world nut, dried fruit and spices and exotics markets, with emphasis on the core topic areas of production, supply, demand, trade and prices. He has a particular interest in the impacts of major global events on these dynamics.

Julian's specialist area is the nut, dried fruit and spices and exotics sectors. He provides timely, insightful reports on raw material supply and manufacturing activity, price assessments, industry developments, company news, trade flows and retail consumption. Julian has been a specialist commodities reporter with Agribusiness since March 2001, during which he has previously also covered such mainstream areas as grains, sugar and tea.

Major broadcasters, including the BBC, have called on him a number of times to provide expert comment on the markets in radio and television interviews.

Prior to his move into commodities reporting he worked as a journalist across various trade publications at United Business Media.

Julian has a BA Honours degree in Radio, Film and Television and Education/Educational Broadcasting and a Periodicals Training Council certificate in journalism.
