Executive Director, Chemical Consulting
Dr. Karine Boccara leads consulting projects in chemicals and across multiple business lines at S&P Global Commodity Insights.
Dr. Karine's responsibilities are to develop and lead chemical consulting projects for clients to best support their tailored needs and decision making, leveraging and complementing existing S&P Global's analysis and the expertise of colleagues in consulting and research across different business lines. She has 24 years experience in the chemical and natural gas industries covering consulting across most commodity and some specialty chemicals, as well as process design. She has led a multitude of chemical consulting projects for producers, private equity investors, lenders, law firms and institutions. Her project experience includes screening and feasibility studies, market and technical due diligence support for M&A, support to lenders as independent market consultant, litigation support, cost competitiveness analysis and assessment of the benefits of different technologies. She has also led strategy studies focused on procurement and market entry. Dr. Karine has carried out several projects in collaboration with other business lines including the Refining, Biofuels, and Gas, Power and Energy Futures teams, as well as the Economics & Country Risks, Automotive and Life Sciences groups. Dr. Karine is increasing involved in projects with ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) scoring impact, such as energy transition projects, the review of lower carbon alternative technologies, and the analysis of sustainable alternative chemical products and value chains.
Dr. Karine holds a Ph.D. from UMIST, UK and an undergraduate Chemical Engineering degree from ENSIC, Nancy, France. She is bilingual in French and English.
