China's property sector deteriorated in the third quarter of 2024, further weakening steel demand. Although a substantial property stimulus was announced in September, its impact on steel demand is expected to be limited. While there has been a slight easing in home buying, strict controls on commercial housing construction remain in place, which could deter demand for construction steel. The ongoing regulatory environment presents challenges for the sector as it seeks to recover.
