Geothermal is one of the fastest growing non-mainstream clean energy technologies. The conventional technologies for generating power and heat from geothermal has limitations in many aspects especially geographical factors and geological properties only in areas with enough underground heat source. The next-generation technologies overcome these challenges and can bring virtually unlimited potential for geothermal energy. The drastic growth in start-up companies and investments from major energy players in the last 3 years shows how fast this technology is growing.
