As the global shipping industry addresses compliance with IMO 2020 SOx reductions and IMO 2050 greenhouse gas targets, methanol is emerging as a practical, alternative marine fuel. Methanol is one of the most widely shipped chemical commodities in the world and is now moving quickly from the cargo hold to ship’s bunkers.

This session will explore the current experience with ships on the water using methanol, and the decisions by methanol producers and ship operators to order vessels with methanol capability. Hear directly from fleet operators, engine manufacturers and leaders of the global methanol industry discussing the use of methanol as a “future proof” marine fuel.
