Platts moves CIF South Europe hot-rolled coil assessment to daily frequency

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has increased the frequency of its CIF South Europe hot-rolled coil assessment to daily from monthly, effective Sept. 1.

The frequency change was first proposed July 14 in a subscriber note available here: https://www.spglobal.com/commodityinsights/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/071422-platts-proposes-moving-cif-south-europe-hot-rolled-coil-assessment-to-daily-frequency

The decision to implement the proposed change was published July 29 in a subscriber note available here: https://www.spglobal.com/commodityinsights/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/072922-platts-to-move-cif-south-europe-hot-rolled-coil-assessment-to-daily-frequency

The assessment continues to reflect price indications that include antidumping and anti-subsidy duties, when applicable. Safeguard duties are not taken into consideration, unless included in the CIF price by the exporter.

The frequency change affects assessment code SB01143. A monthly average of the daily assessment has also been introduced, with the associated code SHRCA03.

The assessment is published in Steel Business Briefing, Steel Price Report, on Platts Metals Alert, on Platts Dimensions Pro and in the Platts price database. Please address any questions or comments to ferrous_emea@spglobal.com and pricegroup@platts.com.
