Platts to discontinue 18 global fertilizer freight assessments June 2

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will discontinue 18 weekly dry bulk and liquid fertilizer freight assessments, effective June 2.

Platts amends the first decision note, published March 26, with the only change being the removal of Sulfur Middle East-China (River/South) 35kt (FUBAM04) from the discontinuation list.

As the market continues to evolve, Platts will consider the most relevant and liquid markets, as evidenced by S&P Global Commodities at Sea, along with extensive input from sources.

The proposed discontinuations stem from shifts in fertilizer trade flows.

Platts will be integrating a wider range of relevant existing freight assessments into the affected PDF publications, effective June 2.
