October 09, 2024
Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has combined its Asia LDPE, HDPE and LLDPE commentaries and rationales into a single Asia polyethylene commentary and a rationale, published Wednesdays, effective Oct. 9, 2024.
The new combined commentary will give customers a more comprehensive view of the polyethylene markets.
The Asia LDPE, LLDPE and HDPE commentaries were previously published on PCA958, PCA959 and PCA545, respectively. These pages will now carry the new combined PE commentary.
The Asia LDPE, LLDPE and HDPE rationales were previously published on PCA957, PCA960 and PCA546, respectively. These pages will now reflect the combined PE rationale for Asia.
Platts will continue duplicating the new commentary and rationale across these existing pages to allow customers to easily find them. If, in the future, Platts decides to consolidate them on one page for the commentary and another for the rationale, Platts will issue a separate subscriber note about this.
The new commentary and rationale are also published on Platts Connect, Platts Market Center, Asian Petrochemicalscan and Polymerscan.
There are no changes to the Asia polyethylene assessments.
Platts initially communicated the change in a subscriber note published Sept. 18 available here: https://www.spglobal.com/commodityinsights/en/our-methodology/price-symbols/091824-platts-combining-asia-ldpe-hdpe-and-lldpe-commentaries-rationales-into-asia-polyethylene-coverage
