The global cathode active material (CAM) market is expected to grow significantly in the coming years due to the huge expansion in the lithium-ion battery industry. However, North America's local capacity is forecast to just cover demand, while Europe is the only region where domestic capacity is forecast to fall short of expected demand in 2030.
As a result, both North America and Europe are expected to be more likely to be reliant on CAM imports from Asia, where China dominates the CAM market.
