Dr. Chris Tanner is the Head of R&D at Kensho, where he directs Machine Learning (ML) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) research that primarily concerns language modelling, structured document extraction, entity linking, and summarization.
Full BioDr. Chris Tanner is the Head of R&D at Kensho, where he directs Machine Learning (ML) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) research that primarily concerns language modelling, structured document extraction, entity linking, and summarization. Chris also holds a joint faculty appointment at MIT, where he teaches large ML/NLP graduate courses. Before joining Kensho, Chris was a full-time lecturer at Harvard, where he also advised graduate students on research. Since 2004, he has conducted ML research within industry, government, and academia, with positions at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, Spotify, Google, IBM Watson, etc. He received his PhD from Brown University.
